I know I’ve said it over and over on the blog already, but I had the best Thanksgiving week. This is more like a full week re-cap because Thanksgiving break started for us last Tuesday night. We drove out to Harpers Ferry that evening after work to meet my parents and brother. Immediately, the games began! The favorite game of the week was Ticket to Ride.
Wednesday morning we woke up to snow! It was beautiful outside. We spent most of the afternoon exploring the town and cooking some dishes for the Thanksgiving meal.
My sisters were supposed to arrive Wednesday evening, but the weather prevented my dad from being able to leave Harpers Ferry to get them from the airport.
On Thanksgiving Day, my mom and I put the rest of the meal together while Daniel, Dad, and my brother went to pick up my sisters from our apartment in Northern Virigina. When we were all together, we took a cheesy sibling + in-law picture on the cabin’s fancy spiral staircase!
After the meal, we took a walk on one of the trails. It was a beautiful (yet chilly) day! Thanksgiving evening was spent watching movies with my mom and sisters.
Friday we packed up and drove into Northern Virginia. We had one last meal all together, and then my parents and brother went to the airport for their flight home. My sisters got to stay one more day, so we filled the rest of Friday night and Saturday with some great meals out, The Theory of Everything (fantastic movie by the way), and lots of Gilmore Girls at home.
Saturday evening Daniel and I went to Barnes & Noble (our office) to get some work done. We took the picture below to say goodbye to this B&N location since it was probably our last time to go there – we move to Texas in two weeks!
Sunday morning we went to church and out to lunch at a local Mexican place. We ended the evening with A Christmas Carol at Ford’s Theater. This is a show I have wanted to seeĀ each Christmas we have been here, so we made it happen this year. It was such a great production, and it really got us into the Christmas spirit!
Now, the two week countdown for our move to Texas and to being back with family begins!
