I have been having such a fun time here in Texas. Part one of my time here was spent mostly with my family. Here is what the last few days have looked like:

I was shocked when this tall, dark-skinned lifeguard walked into the room, and then I found out it was my baby brother!

Sunday with my sweet grandma and cousin

It was pouring on Monday while I worked. There is little that is more comforting to me than a Texas thunder storm!

Watching my aunt and uncle on TV! They were speaking at the Southern Baptist Convention in Baltimore.

Dr. Pepper Museum with the family! This picture is of me and my sister Ellen. I’m not drinking soda right now, so you can imagine how hard this was for me…. 🙂

My brother Ben

Dad attempting to take his first selfie and Ben cracking up at Dad

We toured the Fort House Museum in Waco. We had a very interesting guided tour and learned a lot about the early days of Waco.

Ellen with Mimi and Papa right before Tuesday Sonic Burgers – a weekly tradition in the Phillips household.

My winning corner of the Settlers board!

At a concert in the Waco Arboretum

The Chris Low band  performed at the concert. The band is way up in that pavilion. We really enjoyed the country music, and it was such a nice summer evening!
Not pictured: going to Sunday night dinner at my old residence hall on campus (so fun to see people and meet some of Ellen’s friends!), missing Daniel, watching About Time with Ellen, cleaning out a box of old high school papers that was taking up space in my parents’ attic, lots more yummy food, missing Daniel…..
In just a few hours, I’m packing up the car and driving to Fort Worth for wedding festivities. My good friend Shannon is getting married, and I am thrilled to be a part of her big day!
I hope that everyone is having a great week!
